Family Resources for the Teenager with Down Syndrome

The teenage years are times of change and growth for your loved one with Down syndrome. As with any typical child, it's a time for them to spread their wings and expand their independence.

DSA has exciting and engaging programming that allows your child or loved one to navigate those changes safely and learn valuable tools and resources that will carry them into adulthood.

Be sure to sign up for programming like Down to Box, a boxing class just for individuals with Down syndrome, Dancing with the Descendants, a collaboration with Circle Theater for individuals with Down syndrome to learn dancing skills, Drumming for Wellness to learn how to use drumming as an effective tool to enhance physical, emotional and cognitive abilities, Kitchen Confidence for Everyone - An Adaptive Cooking Series, where individuals with Down syndrome can gain cooking kitchen skills with a nutritional spin!

We also offer other social and educational opportunities throughout the year.  Please contact Deb Madden at madden@dsamidlands.org for more information.
