Speaker Bio -
I have been a Registered Dietitian since 1996. I worked with adults for a couple of years after finishing school and then started working in pediatrics in the year 2000 and have been working at Children’s Mercy the past 16+ years. I have covered many different pediatric areas including general pediatric nutrition, diabetes, weight management, cardiology, renal, failure to thrive and Down syndrome. I currently work in a multidisciplinary Down syndrome clinic that includes a Medical Provider, Occupational Therapist/Feeding Therapist, Behavioral Psychologist, Speech Therapist, Audiologist, Social Worker, Genetics Counselor, and ENT doctor—I love this clinic because it provides “one stop shopping” for our families. This clinic has also helped me grow as a professional, as I have learned about many aspects of the medical care/therapies that are needed for a child with Down syndrome.
* Registration will close Monday, April 17th at 8 am.
