Down Syndrome Education Series - Improving Fine Motor Skills
The Down Syndrome Education Series (DSES) is a monthly educational seminar for families of children with Down syndrome, designed to connect parents with information that will positively impact the education and well-being of their child.

Title - Improving Fine Motor and Self-Help Skills
Holly Dixon and Tammy Stephens, Occupational Therapists from the Monroe-Meyer Institute, will share strategies and activities to promote fine motor and self-help skill development at home and in the community. This presentation will cover ideas for young children as well as older students.
Speaker - Holly Dixon, OTR/L
Holly is a Team Coordinator in the Occupational Therapy Department at Munroe-Meyer Institute, University of Nebraska Medical Center. She has 16 years of experience primarily in early intervention and school system settings. Holly provides educationally related occupational therapy services to students ages 3-21 in the largest public school system in Nebraska. She specializes in feeding development, sensory processing and autism spectrum disorders. Holly has presented both locally and nationally.
Tammy Stephens, OTR/L
Tammy is the transition team leader in the Occupational Therapy Department at Munroe-Meyer Institute, University of Nebraska Medical Center. She has 26 years of experience primarily in the school system setting. Tammy provides educationally related occupational therapy services to students ages 3-21 in the largest public school system in Nebraska. Her areas of interest are technology, autism spectrum disorders and transition to adulthood. Tammy also serves as the MMI representative on the NE Transition Advisory Board.
