The Down Syndrome Education Series (DSES) is a monthly educational seminar for families of children with Down syndrome, designed to connect parents with information that will positively impact the education and well-being of their child.

Sally R. Shott, MD, is a member of the American Board of Otolaryngology and specializes in treating children with a special interest in children with Down syndrome and the specific medical issues they face. Dr. Shott is affiliated with a private practice, in addition to her duties as an associate professor at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.

Session Description - "Obstructive Sleep Apnea and Ear, Nose, and Throat Problems in Down Syndrome"
This presentation will review many of the common otolaryngologic (ear, nose, and throat) problems seen in children and young adults with DS. This includes chronic ear infections and hearing loss, chronic nasal congestion, airway problems including noisy breathing, and sleep abnormalities and obstructive sleep apnea. Treatment options, outcome expectations, and ongoing research studies will be presented.

*Childcare is not provided. With the exception of infants, we request that you refrain from bringing children to this event.
