 a special interest in children with Down syndrome and the specific medical
  issues they face.  Dr. Shott is affiliated with a private practice\, in a
 ddition to her duties as an associate professor at Cincinnati Children's H
 ospital Medical Center.\n\nSession Description - 'Obstructive Sleep Apnea 
 and Ear\, Nose\, and Throat Problems in Down Syndrome'\nThis presentation 
 will review many of the common otolaryngologic (ear\, nose\, and throat) p
 roblems seen in children and young adults with DS.  This includes chronic 
 ear infections and hearing loss\, chronic nasal congestion\, airway proble
 ms including noisy breathing\, and sleep abnormalities and obstructive sle
 ep apnea.  Treatment options\, outcome expectations\, and ongoing research
  studies will be presented.\n￼\n*Interpretation services are available upo
 n request.  Requests must be made by August 10th.\n*Childcare is not provi
 ded.  With the exception of infants\, we request that you refrain from bri
 nging children to this event.
