***PLEASE SEE THE LINK BELOW FOR ASSISTANCE WITH DIRECTIONS AND PARKING***
NOTE - PLEASE BRING YOUR TECHNOLOGY (TABLET, IPAD, LAPTOP, ETC.) WITH YOU TO THE PRESENTATION
The Down Syndrome Education Series (DSES) is a monthly educational seminar for families of children with Down syndrome, designed to connect parents with information that will positively impact the education and well-being of their child.
Kim Voss is a dedicated advocate, author, and speaker. As the mother of a daughter with Down syndrome, Kim realized that she could affect the education of her daughter, as well as other children, by using technology to design meaningful and appropriate software and educational materials. Kim has presented workshops on advocacy, inclusion and the use of technology at local, state, national and international conferences.
Session Description - "From Low Tech to High Tech: Begin Teaching by Design" and "Who Am I?: Computer Designing a Dynamic Student Portfolio"
Learn to effectively use media, layout, images, and text as described in Kim’s award-winning book "Teaching by Design: Using Your Computer to Create Materials for Students with Learning Differences." Create high-quality strategies, from low to high tech, that meet the particular learning needs of individual students. Participants will learn the “whys,” the “how to,” and the “what for’s” for creating a dynamic portfolio.
Childcare is not provided. With the exception of infants, we request that you refrain from bringing children to this event.
