Cost is $60 for 6 classes Please email info@dsamidlands.org for financial assistance with program if needed.
Give your loved one the chance to build real-life independence, confidence, and healthy habits in
a fun, supportive environment. Friends & Food Fridays teaches individuals with Down syndrome
how to cook simple meals, make healthy choices, read food labels, and practice grocery
shopping skills—all through hands-on learning designed for success. Each week includes step-
by-step cooking, safety practice, nutrition lessons, and take-home activities to build
independence. All recipes include no-allergy, gluten-free, and dairy-free options so every
participant can safely join in. This program is welcoming, structured, adaptive, and focused on
building lifelong skills… all while having fun with friends!
*This session is part of a series and will build off of one another, as we graduate through each block of classes it will become more complex and promote the independence of everything cooking related.
