Parent DSES - Patti McVay - Inclusive Best Practices

The Down Syndrome Education Series (DSES) is a monthly educational seminar for families of children with Down syndrome, designed to connect parents with information that will positively impact the education and well-being of their child.
Inclusive Best Practices - this session will provide practical ideas, strategies, resources and examples that promote empowerment and success for parents and their children with Down syndrome. Participants will walk away with ideas they can put into practice the very next day.
Patti McVay is an international speaker, trainer and author supporting students with Down Syndrome. Most recently Patti was the Director of Education for the Linda Crnic Institute and Sie Center for Down Syndrome at the University of Colorado. Patti recently retired from the University of Colorado & the Crnic Institute and is partnering with Laurie Pachl to extend the support, training and resources to children and adults with Down syndrome, their families, schools and communities – starting Down Syndrome Unites – Championing All Disabilities.
Laurie Pachl is a community leader making a difference in the lives of children and young people throughout the Denver, CO area. Laurie is the Founder of Savannah’s Race, raising more than $100,000 in the last 5 years to support families and agencies that serve children with Down syndrome. Laurie has also authored articles and newsletters to encourage other parents and educators to look at new ways to value and see children with Down syndrome. Laurie brings a wealth of experience and information and the invaluable voice of a parent.
