Please reach out to your service provider or county health department for more information.

Update - Adults with Down syndrome living in Nebraska can now register through the State of Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) COVID-19 Vaccine Registration Portal. You will select "Down syndrome" in the Health History section of the form. HOWEVER, individuals with Down syndrome (and those with other health conditions are NO LONGER being prioritized in group 1b. Help Prioritize Disability Vaccine Access! Sign the Petition HERE

Children are not currently eligible to receive either of the approved vaccines. Moderna is approved for ages 18+ and Pfizer is approved for ages 16+ (if your child is 16 years or older, please discuss with your physician).

Here are 3 things we do know about the COVID-19 vaccines for children, and what we can expect in 2021 - from Children's Hospital & Medical Center

Parents & Caregivers

Medicaid Waiver Families - Parents and caregivers of children on the Development Disabilities Waiver, please reach out to your service coordinator for more information. You will need a HHS6 for proof of service from your service coordinator and will be given a list of vaccine clinic days and times. (Please note - this is currently only happening in Douglas county).

Independent caregivers of those not on a waiver (parents are caregivers if your child lives with you)- You can pre-register on Kohll's Pharmacy website using this link https://kohllsrx.com/covid-19/vaccine-individual/. You will need to answer this question - "Are you a caregiver to someone living with disabilities or similar?* YES / NO"

AND / OR - submit a message via THIS LINK stating that you are an independent caregiver of an individual with Down syndrome who is not associated with a group.

Lincoln - Lancaster County Health Department - form has a spot to leave a comment for the scheduler. List that you are an Independent Caregiver for an individual with Down syndrome and not associated with a group.

These forms will PRE-REGISTER you in their system and you will be notified via email with a link to schedule a vaccine appointment when they have one available for you.

*Please note - they are receiving thousands of submissions a day so please be patient but we do have several parents who have been notified and were able to schedule an appointment to receive the vaccine.

DSA is doing the best we can to keep you up to date with the latest vaccine information. We recommend that you reach out to your county health department with any questions or concerns.
