 is combined choir will sing two songs of joy as resistance prior to the ma
 instage performance entitled RISE! Songs of Resilience and Resistance. Thi
 s production will take place on the BLUEBARN outdoor patio (1106 S. 10th S
 treet). \n\nThe choir will rehearse on the Mondays of September 21 and 28 
 from 7 - 8pm at the Barbara Weitz Community Engagement Center on the UNO C
 ampus (6400 S University Dr Rd N). On September 28\, guitarist and musical
  arranger for Rise!\, Jeanne Cahill\, will join the choir to share more ab
 out the show and to rehearse with the choir.\n\nIf you would like to purch

 \nShow Description:\nJimi Hendrix said\, 'Music doesn't lie. If there is s
 omething to be changed in this world\, then it can only happen through mus
 ic.' Through spirituals of strength to the anthems of the suffragettes and
  unions\, gay and civil rights movements\, Music has long rung out with pa
 ssion to express the deepest of human needs -for freedom\, dignity\, hope 
 and BELONGING. From the fields of bondage to movements for justice\, these
  songs have carried the weight of the sorrow and the fire of resistance. T
 his outdoor evening of song honors that legacy-with voices raised in resil
 ience and the unyielding rhythm of freedom. We imagine – we sing out - as 
 we celebrate the power of our collective spirit and together – we RISE
