 \nAbout the Topic & Speaker:\n\n“Preparing for Employment' Presented by St
 ephanie Meredith\, KentuckyWorks\n\nStephanie Meredith is the Director of 
 the Lettercase National Center for Prenatal and Postnatal Resources at the
  University of Kentucky’s Human Development Institute. She is also the aut
 hor of 'Understanding a Down Syndrome Diagnosis' and similar resources abo
 ut other prenatally-diagnosed genetic conditions. Further\, Meredith is th
 e co-author of 'Diagnosis to Delivery: A Pregnant Mother's Guide to DS” an
 d “Welcoming a Newborn with Down syndrome.” In addition\, she developed th
 e Bright Futures curriculum for KentuckyWorks\, a grant-funded program to 
 improve employment outcomes for people with disabilities in Kentucky\, and
  she's the mother of a 21-year-old son with Down syndrome and two younger 
 daughters.\n\nTopics:\nStephanie Meredith will share tips and tools for me
 aningful employment throughout the school years based on KentuckyWorks Emp
 loyment/Family Engagement. She will outline what competitive employment me
 ans\, how to create a vision statement for the future\, how to explore and
  develop works skills and talents\, how to address concerns\, and what res
 ources you can use to help your child achieve his or her dreams. This spea
 ker series is appropriate for families who have a child with Down syndrome
  from Pre-k to teen who are starting to prepare for future employment goal
