 rom personal stories. This presentation includes several examples of advoc
 ates from around the world teaching\, sharing\, and entertaining. \n\nWith
  the guidance of Marcus\, we will discuss the key elements that make a com
 pelling story for you to include in your own advocacy. Remember\, stories 
 aren’t just for authors and artists! Every job resume’ and interview tells
  a story\, every “One-Pager” introduction presented to teachers and profes
 sionals contains a story\, and your social networks are full of micro-stor
 ies shared every day. Mardra and Marcus will give you tips on choosing you
 r message to make the greatest impact. \n\nBONUS: With Halloween just arou
 nd the corner\, there will also be treats and a monster rock band video\, 
 too! \n\nBio:\nMarcus Sikora\, is a storyteller\, actor\, and advocate. Hi
 s first published book for children\, Black Day: The Monster Rock Band\, r
 eleased in June 2015 and followed shortly with the animated short. He has 
 modeled for the cover of Down Syndrome World Magazine\, and has done inter
 views and presentations for the media and groups of all sizes\, including 
 at the United Nations in 2017 and the World Down Syndrome Congress in 2018
 . \n\nMardra Sikora\, Marcus’ mother\, believes in the power of words and 
 uses both fiction and non-fiction to advocate for and with Marcus. In addi
 tion to award winning essays and short fiction\, she is co-author of The P
 arent’s Guide to Down Syndrome (2016\, Simon and Schuster) and has work fe
 atured on many national online outlets including The HuffPost. \n\n*Regist
