  Reads for Special Needs\n\nWorkshop title:\nWHOLE CHILD READING: Go in Th
 rough the Heart and Teach to the Brain\n \nA national and international sp
 eaker for over 20 years\, Natalie's passion for teaching reading to our le
 arners is based on the firm belief that our children/teens/adults can lear
 n to read. An educator and parent of an adult son with Down syndrome\, Nat
 alie's enthusiasm is contagious. Giving tools that are immediately applica
 ble by attendees\, she leads the audience through an effective plan to tea
 ch reading to learners of any age with Down syndrome or other developmenta
 l delays. With the goal of reading success achieved through “Going in thro
 ugh the heart and teaching to the brain\,” she covers in detail the most e
 ffective methods\, materials\, and motivation guidelines. Topics covered i
 nclude current best practice\, the optimal order of learning to read\, sig
 ht word learning\, phonemic awareness\, effective teaching materials\, tea
 ching nonverbal learners and older non-readers\, the Fast Flash method\, c
 omprehension tips\, errorless testing techniques\, and more. \n\n*Registra
 tion will close Monday\, March 19th at 10am. Please contact Leah at janke@
