 ome Education Series (DSES) is a monthly educational seminar for families 
 of children with Down syndrome\, designed to connect parents with informat
 ion that will positively impact the education and well-being of their chil
 d.\n\nMaximizing the Learning Potential for Students with Down syndrome - 
 classroom strategies\, IEP goals\, and behavior plans.\nThe session will f
 ocus on recognizing and capitalizing upon the learning profile of children
  with Down syndrome in the classroom setting and creating appropriate IEPs
  to address common academic and behavioral challenges of students with Dow
 n syndrome.  Strategies will also be provided concerning how to prevent pr
 oblematic behaviors from occurring and how to create positive (and useful)
  behavior plans and behavior goals.\n\nSpeaker Bio-\nGretchen Carroll\, M.
 A. is the Clinical Special Educator and School Liaison for the Jane and Ri
 chard Thomas Center for Down Syndrome and the Neurodevelopmental Education
  Clinic at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. She earned Bache
 lor’s and Master’s degrees in Learning Disabilities from Northwestern Univ
 ersity and has worked as a clinical special educator\, learning specialist
 \, and school consultant for over twenty five years. Gretchen has worked w
 ith hundreds of students and schools to improve academic and behavioral ou
 tcomes for children with Down syndrome. She speaks locally and nationally 
 with expertise in the areas of IEP preparation\, learning strategies\, inc
 lusion\, and behavior.\n\nChildcare is not provided.  With the exception o
