  using visuals can expedite your child’s ability to truly understand and r
 eact to situations in a positive manner.  From traditional methods to apps
 \, learn tips for several visual strategies using simple pictures\, if/the
 n and first/then statements\, choices\, visual schedules\, social stories\
 , and video modeling.  This presentation can also help with more than just
  communication.  Whether your child/student is struggling with transitions
 \, academic skills\, self-help\, behavior\, social\, motor skills\, vocati
 ons\, or even play\, this session is sure to be helpful to both educators 
 and caregivers.  Discussing research projects\, industry best practices\, 
 and examples of success stories throughout\, Ms. Ellis will inspire you to
  think outside the box to “make it visual” and make some breakthroughs!\n
 \nSpeaker Bio - \nSusan Ellis is a national speaker\, author\, and co-crea
 tor of the award winning handwriting program\, The TV Teacher. Designed fo
 r children with special needs\, Ms. Ellis’ program is used by parents\, te
 achers\, and therapists around the world.  She has been interviewed on CNN
 \, NBC\, FOX\, national radio broadcasts and print media outlets.  With he
 r two sons on the Autism Spectrum\, Ms. Ellis has more than a decade of ex
 perience using visual strategies. She relates to her audiences on a person
 al and professional level by sharing funny and heart-felt stories that are
  enlightening and inspiring.\n\nThe Down Syndrome Education Series (DSES) 
 is a monthly educational seminar for families of children with Down syndro
 me\, designed to connect parents with information that will positively imp
