“DHHS Updates & News" Presented by Tony Green, Director of Division of Developmental Disabilities (DD) at the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).
The Down Syndrome Education Series (DSES) is a monthly educational seminar for families of children with Down syndrome, designed to connect parents with information that will positively impact the education and well-being of their child.

Speaker:

Tony Green has been advocating for and supporting Nebraska’s children and families for over 30 years.  His early career began working as a Direct Support Professional while attending college.  After graduating in 1990 with his bachelor of science in Human Service Counseling, he became a Service Coordinator and Supervisor for the Division of DD with DHHS. Tony then moved into being a provider as the Executive Director of a non-profit agency that supports people with developmental disabilities.  He served in this role for 8 years.  Tony then rejoined the State of Nebraska with DHHS.  Over the last 15 years at DHHS Tony has held various Deputy Director/Interim Director roles over such programs such as: Office of Juvenile Services, Child/Adult Protective Services, Child Support Enforcement and Economic Assistance (SNAP, TANF, etc….).  Prior to his current appointment Tony was Deputy Director for the DD Division, overseeing the statewide delivery of community-based services and service coordination for the Medicaid Home and Community Based Services Waivers for the developmentally disabled. Tony Green holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Wayne State College, where he majored in human service counseling, psychology, and criminal justice and minored in sociology.  He officially became Director of DD in Nebraska on August 24, 2020.

In this presentation, Mr. Green, will address DHHS news and changes that effect Nebraska families and people with an IDD. A Q&A will be available as well to address such topics as waivers, waiting lists, and more. Please RSVP ASAP for this in-person event at DSA office - 10824 Old Mill Road Suite 8.
