The Down Syndrome Education Series (DSES) is a monthly educational seminar for families of children with Down syndrome, designed to connect parents with information that will positively impact the education and well-being of their child.

About Graciela Sharif, PTI Nebraska

Graciela Sharif is the mother of a young adult with Down syndrome. As a Peruvian born mother, advocate and professional, she strives to educate and empower parents and professionals as they work to improve the educational and health care outcomes of individuals with developmental disabilities.

Graciela is a bilingual Outreach coordinator at the Parent Training and Information (PTI Nebraska) and the Cultural Diversity Coordinator for the Leadership in Education for Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) Program. Much of her work has focused on creating bridges of communication with Latinx, immigrant, and refugee communities as well as the organizations that serve them.

Graciela and her family are proud members of the DSA of the midlands from the year it was created in 1999.

Graciela Sharif es la madre de un joven con sindrome de Down. Como madre Peruana, defensora y professional, ella se esfuerza por educar y fortalecer a padres y profesionales que trabajan para mejorar los resultados educacionales y de salud de personas con discapacidades del desarrollo.

Graciela es coordinadora bilingue en información de PTI Nebraska y coordinadora de diversidad cultural del programa interdisciplinario de liderazgo (LEND) del Instituto Munroe Meyer.

Gran parte de su trabajo se enfoca en la creación de puentes de comunicación con las communidades Latinx, immigrantes y refugiados y de igual manera con las organizaciones que sirven a estas comunidades.

Graciela y su familia estan orgullosos de ser miembros de DSA desde el año en que se creó en 1999!
